The Oxford Dictionary of Phrase and Fable edited by Elizabeth Knowles

The Oxford Dictionary Phrase and Fable edited by Elizabeth Knowles published by Oxford University Press is arrived at its second edition more bigger, richer in terms, phrase, names, saying, expressions.
This dictionary is born for giving to the readers interested in folklore, mythology, customs and all the possible voices connected with it, the best reference for their work.
You will find all the time the best saying, the best expression, the best word. You will discover that the dictionary covers more than 10.000 phrases, saying, expressions, and proverbs' extensions like these ones: "It's the second mouse that gets the cheese" or "If life lands you lemons, make lemonade." From the names of the classic Greek mythology, passing through Catholic places like Lourdes, we will discover Hobbit, nightmares, Odysseus, but also the saying: "Prevention is better than cure" salt, our Pinocchio.
I found Boston with two voices: Boston Stump and Boston Tea Party. Buddha is close to Buffalo Bill and Buffy the Vampire-Slyer. There is the italian Don Camillo by Guareschi (Peppone is missing), while with the Minotaur we enter in a mythological dimension and with the Milky Way we dream the immensity of the Universe.

To everyone happy discovery and happy dreaming with the Oxford Dictionary of Phrase and Fable.

I thank Oxford University Press for the physical book review copy.
